Baby J's classic fried chicken sandwich is inspired by the beloved American buttermilk-fried chicken sandwich found in many different forms in all regions of America. Ours features juicy buttermilk-marinated chicken with a crispy fried crust and just a hint of spices, a creamy ranch sauce, and a pile of fresh and bright vinaigrette-dressed vegetable slaw, all balanced on a pain de mie bun developed in-house and made for us by our sister restaurant, Parklet Bakery.

Founding owners of Baby J's, JJ and Kate Jaksich, met in California where their mutual love of food and their experience in running some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area inspired them to bring the California dining style to Japan. In 2022 they opened Parklet Bakery in Nihonbashi with partners Yuta Oka and Max Houtzager. In 2024, with partner Yuta Oka's company Staple Inc., they opened Meiji Park Market in Shinjuku's new Meiji Park. The market is a multi-eatery space featuring a second location of Parklet Bakery and Tokyo's first Baby J's. Customers are invited to dine inside a playful and open space with high ceilings and sweeping views of the park, or take their meal to the terrace or the park and beyond.
